As far as I understand, Ukraine has a population of 48 million people. It is the second most populated country of the former Soviet Union after Russia. 72 percent of Ukraine's population are Ukrainians, Russians make 22 percent and other ethnic groups like Polish, Belarusians, Jews. Bulgarians, Hungarians and Tatars comprise 6 percent. There are many Ukrainians living outside country. Overseas Ukrainians are found in Europe, other half a million of them live in Canada and the USA. Ukrainians are scattered throughout Brazil and Australia. Most of Ukrainian population is urban. Close to 70 percent live in cities and towns and 30 percent live in the country. As you see, Ukraine is a multicultural state.
